- OUR MISSION -

The purpose of our application and VR program is to allow the user to experience life through various experiences, including, but not limited to, homelessness and being objectified. Though this project, we hope to explore how one can foster their empathy for common social issues worldwide. In addition, we hope to use VR to impact public perception and experience the realities of people worldwide. We hope you enjoy this immersive VR experience and learn from it!

What is Empathy?

Empathy is the ability to sense other people’s emotions, coupled with the ability to imagine what someone else might be thinking or feeling. Empathy is a building block of morality because it helps if they can put themselves in someone else’s shoes, allowing us to understand the perspectives, needs, and intentions of others. How do I Cultivate Empathy?

Researchers say to nurture empathy, you should keep an open mind and get out of your head! Don't be quick to judge and jump to conclusions. Why Practice Empathy?

Empathy reduces prejudice and racism, promoting equality. It encourages us to reach out and want to help those who are not in our social group, even those who are apart of stigmatized groups. Source: Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley
